Finance Assistant

Reporting to the Corporate Team Leader you will be responsible for assisting the team with the accounts for our corporate entities and technically managed fleet. You will be able to work as part of the busy and dynamic Finance Department and with a flexible and committed approach to the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raising of sales orders and invoices.
  • Sales remittance processing.
  • Financial coding of AP invoices.
  • Posting General Ledger Journals (i.e., accruals, prepayments etc).
  • Creating bank payments.
  • Review AP payment run files to confirm accuracy of payments.
  • Completion of stock book reconciliations.
  • Completion of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Communication with key business stakeholders to ensure timely approval of purchase orders/invoices.
  • Assist the Corporate Team Leader in preparation of the Daily Running Costs reports for company managed vessels and other relevant monthly financial reporting processes.
  • Identify opportunities to implement new processes/procedures to drive efficiencies.
  • Ad-hoc requests
  • You may be asked from time to time be asked to undertake other tasks that are considered to be relevant to your position.

 

 

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • HND, AAT or ACCA part-qualified or equivalent experience (Study support could be available for training in a professional qualification)
  • Demonstratable experience in similar role
  • Accountancy background/Industry Experience not essential but desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to identify and prioritise key activities.
  • Accuracy with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Client Driven and Commercially aware
  • Excellent Communication skills with the ability to relay financial information clearly within a Corporate Business.
