Voyage Performance Analyst - LNG

The LNG Voyage Performance Analyst supports the vessel Master and the Fleet Groups to ensure optimal compliance with charter party clauses and performance warranties to minimise charterer claims and optimise voyage revenue for owners. This will focus on key metrics including finance, performance warranties and contractual obligations tied to wider group efficiencies across our managed fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safety, environmental protection and health is as top priority, when managing charter party compliance with each vessel.
- Work closely with all members of operations, ship, and shore, to enhance commercial operational awareness and performance.
- Communicate with all necessary internal and external parties including vessels, owners, charterers, brokers, insurers, and lawyers.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with charterers, owners, agents, and other industry professionals, driving expected behaviours, values of the Company.
- Drive cost leadership and efficiencies of each vessel and its voyage.
- Assist in the completion of monthly and quarter-end reports and corporate reporting for vessels as required.
- Attend owners/charterers’ meetings or other forums as required by Line Manager, representing the Company as and when required.
- Effectively monitor time charter parties to ensure compliance and implementation of key clauses to ensure consistent commercial efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with owners’ requirements for Masters handling of Bills of Lading, Letters of Protest and Letters of Indemnity, liaising with all parties where necessary.
- Manage, review and liaise with charterer on all key requirements including (but not limited to):
- Voyage instructions and planning
- Compliance and reporting instructions
- Estimate, track, and manage closure of any necessary commercial claims.
- Support Business Development as required.
- Maintain adequate in-depth voyage records by all accepted documentation means including active voyage files, software tools and emails as per various company guidelines.
- Ensure vessels accurately and properly submit daily reports and voyage summaries.
- Monitor daily reports and voyage summaries to review vessels performance against charter party requirements and seek remedial actions where required with necessary internal and external parties. Where required guide vessels on charter party performance and exclusion interpretation and management.
- Ensure vessels are monitored for idle time and slow steaming and submit timely requests to charterers for effective remedial and or preventative measures
- Liaise with vessels and other team members to monitor heel management against pre-determined heel management plans
- Proactively engage in continuous improvement of management structure and management systems.
- Meet with master’s during pre-joining briefings and operational inductions to deliver charter party familiarisation and commercial expectations.
- Participate in seafarers’ seminars and safety week as required
- Respond to feedback from external and internal customers to ensure consistent delivery of first-class service and proactive resolution of any issues.
- Undertake other related activities as may be deemed necessary by the company
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in vessel charter party analysis.
- In depth knowledge of most widely used charter parties, clauses and their application, bills of lading and other standard agreements
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to support and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels within the business.
- Knowledge of management of LNG vessel operations, preferably with sailing time served on board LNG vessels
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in data driven decision making
- Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex charter party performance concepts
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results with deadlines.
- Ability and experience working with cross functional teams and external stakeholders, building strong relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
- Fully cognisant of all MS office software
- Demonstrates teamwork, with strong interpersonal skills
